Hungarian Goulash

Hungarian Goulash - A very mild and hearty dish suitable for Family meals or entertaining, great for the slow cooker
HUNGARIAN GOULASH
SERVES 4-6 – MILD
Ingredients
100 Grams bacon – diced
1 large onion – chopped
2 tomatoes – peeled & chopped
1 kg rump steak – cut into strips
1 cup vegetable stock
450 grams potatoes – cut into 2 cm cubes
100 grams frozen peas
3 tablespoons sour cream
Method:
- Cook bacon in casserole dish until lightly brown
- Add onion – cook for 2 minutes
- Add tomatoes – stir for 1 minute
- Stir in beef, spice blend & stock – bring to boil
- Reduce heat to low – simmer covered for 40 mins
- Add potatoes & cook uncovered for 10-15 mins – until potatoes are tender
- Add peas – cook for 5 mins
- Add Salt to taste
- Stir in sour cream
Suggestions: Serve with Rye Bread
